Target Forward: Sustainability Strategy
Our vision is to co-create an equitable and regenerative future together with our guests, partners and communities.
Target is testing reusable bags for Pickup Orders to improve the Guest experience and reduce our impact on the planet.
The test pilot will run in select NJ store locations in October.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Can I return other bags?
This pilot is only collecting the new black reusable bags (shown above).
As always, guests can recycle any single-use plastic bags they no longer need at our in-store recycling kiosks
How long is the test pilot?
The pilot will provide reusable bags for pickup orders through October 13. Reusable bags can be returned for the whole month of October.
Why are we doing this?
We heard you! Guests have asked for more convenient ways to receive their favorite items.
Also, we care about the planet and are testing different ways to eliminate single-use bags.
Why are these bags better for the planet?
Reuse is a great way to keep plastic out of landfills. We’re doing our part and we need you to return this bag as soon as is convenient!
Studies show that bags reused more than 30 times can lower our carbon footprint.
What material are the bags made of?
The bags are made from a nonwoven polypropylene material.
Why doesn’t my store offer these bags?
We test new ideas in select stores to prove they work. This pilot is running in North Bergen and Edgewater, NJ, for Pickup orders only.
